The X-axis and Y-axis position sensors feature a compact non-contacting high
resolution incremental linear encoder and a chrome-on-glass ruled scale.
  • Encoder cross section of 0.520" by 1.814" designed to fit most space restrictive applications.
  • Resolution of 1.0 micron.
  • Differential, TTL compatible line driver output with separate center index output.
  • Low excitation voltage of +5Vdc at 120mA maximum.
  •
  • No calibration and no adjustments. Calibration is inherent in the scales, which are replicated from a master produced on a ruling engine.
  • Each encoder utilizes reflective optical diffraction technology for superb bidirectional repeatability.
  • Chrome-on-glass scales ensure exceptional thermal stability (thermal expansion of 4.5 PPM/°F).

  • AccuStage provides custom installation of the encoders to your microscope stage as part of the purchase price.
Each microscope manufacturer's stage designs are slightly different. Generally, however, the X-axis encoder is
placed along the rear edge of the stage, while the Y-axis encoder fits on the underside edge opposite the controls.

    • Milling machine setup
    • Placing mounting holes
    • Accuracy
The stage is aligned in a milling
    machine using a dial micrometer.

Hole patterns, unique to the particular type and model of stage, are then precisely drilled along the rear edge and underside of the stage.

These holes are then threaded for the screws used to fasten an encoder mounting plate to the stage.
Holes are located to 0.0005 inch using digital readout of the milling machine table position.
